ANSWER: How can I get the "Other Views" on the robe pages to work?
The other views are mouseover effects. To access them: Place your mouse over the smaller picture, and it will appear in place of the existing picture. NOTE: If you have a slow connection (i.e.; 56k modem) then you might have to wait a while for the pictures to load.
ANSWER: What does the "Prepay Order Status" on the main page tell me?
The Prepay Order Status section located towards the bottom of the main page, lets you know how close an order is to being completed (how soon you will get your robe) by listing the estimated time of completion (i.e.; 4/20/05). Usually a "Prepay Batch" is completed every month in the busy season. The Prepay Order Status section also let's you know if your order has been fulfilled or not (This comes in handy if you are wanting to get pulled from the current prepay list. ANSWER: How do I order a robe?
Ordering a robe is simple. On the desired robe page (Black or Brown) click on the available buttons labeled either "Short", "Medium", or "Long" (on the black robe page, the buttons are red, whereas on the brown robe page, the buttons are blue). On the youngling robe page, the buttons are green and are labeled with the words brown or black. If you want to use a money order to purchase your robe, view the FAQ entitled: Can I pay with a money order, and if so, where do I send it?
ANSWER: How long has OuterRobes.com been in business?
The concept behind OuterRobes has been around since 1999, however it took another three years to form it into a reality. The OuterRobes.com website has been functioning since 2002, and has been through a lot of changes. Each change brings us closer to providing better customer satisfaction to all who choose to buy their robe here at OuterRobes.com. In the very near future some changes to our site will include new robe designs, and expanded shipping zones.
ANSWER: Where and when do you auction off robes?
There are a variety of reasons why we auction off robes. If a robe has a small flaw in it, we will auction it off as a "seconds" (although this rarely happens), or if we have a limited edition robe (a style that we do not normally carry) we will put it up for auction. Most of the time we put up auctions on eBay as a way of advertising. For whatever the reason, if we auction off a robe we will list it on eBay with a great starting price.
ANSWER: Do you ship Internationally?
OuterRobes does not ship internationally. We only ship to US addresses. WE NOW SHIP TO customers residing in Alaska, Hawaii and US Possessions, such as Puerto Rico.
ANSWER: What are my shipping options?
OuterRobes uses 3 different shipping methods from UPS; "UPS Ground", "3 Day Select" and "2 Day Express". Both the "3 Day" and "2 Day" shipping methods are guaranteed to arrive by the end of their package's respective business day (i.e.; If you purchased "3 Day Select" the robe is guaranteed to arrive at the end of the 3rd business day.) If you live in Alaska, Hawaii, Puerto Rico, or need the robe shipped to a military base (AFB, APO, Etc.) please use the USPS shipping method.
ANSWER: What's OuterRobes' turnaround time?
If you purchase a robe Sunday through Thursday, the turnaround time, or the time to complete the transaction and ship out your robe, is: 12 - 24 hours after payment is received. IF YOU PURCHASE a robe Friday or Saturday your robe will be sent out on Monday (UPS is closed on the weekends!)
ANSWER: Who do you use to ship packages?
OuterRobes uses UPS. They provide good, reliable service...And it's very hard to smash a robe!
ANSWER: Which robe will fit me?
The robes come in 3 different sizes (Short, Medium, Long) and the biggest difference between the 3 is how tall they are.
"SHORT" sized robes are ideally suited for someone around 5'6" (five foot, six inches)
"MEDIUM" sized robes are ideally suited for someone around 6'0" (six foot, zero inches)
"LONG" sized robes are ideally suited for someone around 6'6" (six foot, six inches)
The chest is very forgiving and accomodates most builds.
When it comes to weight issues, I would say that these robes comfortably fit a man up to 225 lbs.
ANSWER: Do I want the robe to drag?
That's a personal decision, though the following may help you decide...
Fabric that drags on the ground gets dirtier quicker and wears out faster. If you want to have a robe drag on the ground be sure you practice walking in it a lot (very easy to trip yourself with an excessively long robe). Many field cloaks and robes are 2 to 3 inches above the ground, which helps the wearer move better and more freely.
ANSWER: What do the sizes: "Short, Medium and Long" refer to?
The sizes DO NOT refer to the robe's circumference (girth), but rather refer to the differences in the robe's varying heights.
"SHORT" sized robes are ideally suited for someone around 5'5" (five foot, five inches)
"MEDIUM" sized robes are ideally suited for someone around 5'11" (five foot, eleven inches)
"LONG" sized robes are ideally suited for someone around 6'5" (six foot, five inches)
ANSWER: Does the youngling robe fit my kid?
The youngling robe typically fits a child around the 3-5 year old category, but it primarily depends on your child's individual measurements. FIRST: Measure from the "shoulder/neck intersection" (from the back of the neck, but flush with the shoulders). If this measurement is around* 33 inches, your kid fits the robe so far. NEXT: Circle a measuring tape underneath your kids' arms to find the chest/stomach measurement. If this measurement is close to* 38 inches then your kid fits the robe.

*"Close to" and "around" refer to the giving or taking of an inch either way of the stated measurement.

ANSWER: Are there any differences between the Dark and Traditional Series?
The only difference is the color. Both robes are created from the same pattern and feature the "Five Differences" spoken of in the "WHY BUY HERE" page.
ANSWER: Do the robes come with neck closures?
No, they don't. Here's why: Every person's body structure is different. We did not include a closure because of this fact. Some people might want the closure in a different place, or even adjusted tighter or looser. Others might not like the look of the closure or not even want one entirely.

So rather than have most people re-sew, or even discard their closure, we opted to not include one. It also helps keep costs low, and the results are reflected in the price.
ANSWER: Why is "3 Seam Construction" important?
Having only a limited number of seams makes our robes look and flow better. The placing of the 3 main seams on the robe's body is done in such a way that it eliminates unneccessary seams, especially down the tops of the arms and at the shoulders. This results in a look that is more authentic.
ANSWER: Can I wash my robe?
Yes you can. Just keep the following in mind before doing so: Our robes are made of a heavyweight flannel material which means that they will "pill" when machine washed. "Pilling" is caused by the soft nap of the material collecting together and forming small "fuzzballs". If you wash your robe and want to remove the "pilling" effect, iron the robe on high and use PLENTY OF STEAM. IMPORTANT NOTE: YOUR ROBE WILL SHRINK when machine washed! This shrinkage is anywhere from 2-4 inches. I recommend "Spot Cleaning" with a mild soap and warm water.
ANSWER: What type of payment do you take?
OuterRobes takes Paypal and money orders. Paypal is used to accept credit card payments; these type of payments receive immediate processing.
Robes being purchased via a money order will be shipped out upon receipt of the payment.
ANSWER: What does it mean to Prepay for a robe?

ANSWER: I prepaid for a robe, but need to cancel my order. What do I do?
If for any reason you need to cancel your order, email Master Ryan with your request. NOTE: Your request needs to be received before the composite order goes out, otherwise the funds are spent purchasing the fabric needed to sew your robe.
ANSWER: Can I pay with a money order, and if so, where do I send it?
If you want to use a money order to buy a robe, you must first email OuterRobes (using our Email Form) and reserve the type of robe you are wanting to purchase.
Your robe will be held for about one week so you must mail payment in a timely manner. Upon receipt of your money order, your robe order will be processed.
REMEMBER TO INCLUDE with your money order, your desired "mail-to" address in a legible format.

WHERE DO YOU SEND IT?: You will receive an address after reserving your robe.
ANSWER: This robe doesn't fit me, can I exchange it for another?
Yes, you can exchange it, but there are certain criteria a robe needs to fit under in order to qualify as an exchange or return...SEE "DOES MY ROBE QUALIFY FOR BEING EXCHANGED?". Also if you would like to exchange it for another, you can include a money order with the returned robe for your desired shipping method.
("Ground: $14.95"; "3 Day Select: $19.95"; "2 Day Express: $22.95")

ANSWER: Does my robe qualify for being exchanged?
If you find that your robe does not fit and you would like to exchange it for another or return it for a refund, it must fit the following criteria: The robe must be in "GOOD CONDITION"; free of dirt and moisture, with no rips, tears or scuffs in the fabric...In other words, it needs to be like how you got it. Please fold and package the robe well for it's "...journey to the Emperor." This helps eliminate unnecessary creases and wrinkles in the fabric.

*All robes qualifying for refunds and exchanges MUST BE RETURNED NO LATER THAN 2 WEEKS from the date when you received it.
ANSWER: Does OuterRobes give refunds? (i.e.; Paypal, Money Order)
Of course we do. But your robe must qualify as a return (see above) in order to have a refund be issued. If you have paid via money order, a check will be sent out to you upon receipt of the qualifying returned robe. If it was by Paypal that you sent payment, your refund will be credited to your Paypal account upon receipt of the qualifying returned robe. Shipping and handling charges are non-refundable. Please notify Master Ryan if you are going to be exchanging or returning robes.
